Magento – Implement VAT reduction

After the last post was about our new extension, which automatically makes the required VAT adjustment by 19% on 16% and from 7% on 5% makes (Link to Contribution / Link to the extension M1 or M2), now also a little turtorial how to get the gross prices in the frontend rel. can comfortably adjust, without having to adjust all prices manually or via export / import.

Admittedly – it is not the most beautiful option, but it is an option:

In advance: Should 19%- AND (Not or) 7%-Have items in the shop, must first under catalog > Attribute > Attributes manage the attribute with the code “tax_class_id” so be adjusted, that you can use it to define price rules. At M1 just under “suitable for pricing rules” on “Ja” set. Analog for M2. You only have 19%- or 7% items, this step is not necessary.

1. By shopping cart price rule: You create a new price rule under price rules > Shopping cart price rules and there sets a new price rule e.g.. with the name “19% to 16%” an. It is important to define here, that these “without discount code” is applied and of course the relevant period from 01.07.2020 bus 01.01.2021.. At “Actions” then “Percentage discount per item” and then 3 (or. 2) enter. Then continue (when 19%- AND has 7% items) set the rule below this, that the rule only for items with the tax bracket 19% is applied. Then you need a rule for 7%.

With this option, the prices remain in the category, the article view etc. the way they were. The discount in the amount of. 3% / 2% deducted directly.

2. By catalog price rule: A new catalog price rule is created under price rules > Catalog price rules. You can also use the name here “19% to 16%” (or just “7% to 5%”) use and specify the validity period. One has 19%- and 7% items, must then be returned to the tax class of the items under certain conditions. Otherwise under “Actions” then 3 or 2% deposit, deducted from the original price.

With this option, the old prices are shown as strike prices in the shop and the current ones next to them. Already reduced (over special price) Articles are not further reduced. IMPORTANT: In contrast to shopping cart price rules, catalog price rules should be activated and also deactivated BEFORE they are deleted. If you delete an active catalog price rule, you may have. a lot of work ahead, since the prices do not simply reset if a rule does not exist.

Legally it could be with version 2 evtl. to have problems, because strike prices are interpreted as special offers and thus the conditions of sale / Rabatten / Special offers are subject. One edition is. the time limit. So you can't just get a special offer for 5 Months “apply”.
So the procedure would be 1 m.E. vs.. Version 2 to prefer.

Neither procedure affects the shipping.
