Magento – Images URL weird and wrong when uploading via WYSIWYG editor

PictureA long known problem with Magento is the corrupt images path when uploading the file using the What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG)-Editor in the backend of Magento.

The link then looks like this:

"https://www.meine-domain.de/index.php/backendurl/cms_wysiwyg/directive/___directive/e3ttZWRpYSB1cmw9Ind5c2l3eWcvU2xpZGVyL21hdWVyLmpwZyJ9fQ,,/key/54cd62b9bef9046d70c8eb20b6d4f149/"

This is a URL, the one in the front end can not call or. the (partially) only through the backend the correct content can display. Here is the editor simply spins.

There is a Workdaround, but which does not make me happy: You go to System > Configuration > General / CMS editor options and sets in there “Use Static URLs for media content in WYSIWYG for the catalog” the drop on “Ja”. Now the link is better and looks like this:

Better, because it works after all – So the link or. the URL. It does not make me happy, since a static link is used. So once you change the base URL- the image (or. all so uploaded pictures) get lost. A link /media/wysiwyg/bild.jpg would therefore be desirable.

You can search here a long time and certainly make adjustments to the code, But a simple solution is this: The setting regarding. the static URL “No” let. If you want to insert an image, hide the WYSIWYG editor (by clicking on “Show / Hide Editor” and then on “Insert Image” click. Here you can now upload photos, delete, etc Select. and also insert into the page. If this is done, the link looks like this: “{{media url=”wysiwyg/Slider/mauer.jpg”}}” – and so we want the. You can now also still pure pack a few things in the code as image name, etc..

Some Magento versions but one must not be deceived. In the editor, it looks at the URL above, but then adds to the image in the text, it is correct…

Used in Magento versions 1.4 – 1.9 Comments? Additions? Notes? Gladly!

Since 2009 I have been working intensively with Magento. I started with the creation and operation of B2C stores. This was extended through my work in the logistics sector. This resulted first specialized B2E systems. Today I work day-a day with exciting B2C, B2B- and B2E projects and reports in this blog about challenges and give insider tips.
