Magento – Search or Quick Search in the header removed / delete

Who, for example, only one product on the page, may have no real use for a Search. These can be removed with a code change from the header.

For this purpose, the file header.phtml in the folder

/app / design / frontend /[base or default]/IhrTemplate/template/page/html

open and there about. in line 38 the range

deleted or by <!– and –> excluded. So it might look like then

<!--<?php echo $this->getChildHtml('topSearch') ?>-->

Save and should already be tested free of the new header.

Of course, it may be, that the Header area slightly shifts, which can then counter with a few changes in the CSS castable.

Another option would be to find not only allow loading (Although currently it is loaded from the store but not displayed). This must then be made on the appropriate XML file in the folder of the template layout.
