Magento – PayPal Plus There was an error with your payment.

PictureWe had at a shop just the problem, that payments with PayPal (Plus) not walked. The customer was directed to PayPal and if there was complete the payment, he was led back to the cart to the shop and received the error message “There was an error with your payment.

Now it helps some already when you dial in to the server via FTP and there in the directory /var / log for a file PayPal.log investigated.

In this (The new entries are added to the bottom) the stored errors. (Otherwise, you can even with the PayPal Plus – enable debug output configuration in the backend, to come closer to the problem)

In our case, there was this issue:

Got Http response code 400 when accessing https://api.paypal.com/v1/payments/payment/PAY-1UU97394RE844142FLJQ26GQ/execute. {"name":"DUPLICATE_TRANSACTION","details":[],"message":"Duplicate invoice Id detected.","information_link":"https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/payments/#errors","debug_id":"adc3dcf49e63bc"}

Apparently, PayPal had the problem, that the invoice (or. actually the order, as these-depending on the settings in the backend PayPal Plus- is transmitted to the payment server. Where did this come…no idea. Maybe it is because, that we have worked with this account first with the sandbox, then all orders reset (also im Magento) and then switched to live mode. In this case, PayPal would appear to make no distinction between already submitted sandbox orders and later live orders.

Thus, two quick ways were given:

1. to prevent the transmission of the order to PayPal (System > Configuration > Sales / PAYMENT / PayPal More – transfer order number as PayPal invoice number

2. The number range (mind.) To change the order numbers.

We have opted for the latter option, because thus the subsequent assignment of orders to PayPal booking is easier.

We have to do this THIS operated manual.

Then the payment flipped back.
