When creating a Configurable product you are asked frequently, which attributes should be used for investment.
The associated information is simply “There are attributes with scope “Global”, Input Type “Dropdown” Use and to create configurable products “Ja” selectable.”.
But what exactly is hidden behind? Losing all the details I will not but I want to give a broad overview:
In general, a Configurable product (KoPro) same attributes and hence have the same attribute set as the associated Simple Products (oder Simple Products = SiPros).
Bzgl. the assignment of attributes when creating a KoPros:
If you e.g..
Color
and
Size
Click on the system of a KoPros, then the associated SIPROS in size and color may be different.
Example:
Laying an Kopro “Cup in various colors and sizes” with two o.g. Characteristics to, and then the associated SIPROS or. drawn therefrom the SIPROS can vary across both features.
1. Taxes rot – 12cm
2. Blue cup – 14cm
3. Taxes rot – 14cm
4. ….
The customer can thus e.g.. First the (available) Choose color of the cup and then the (available) Size
If one uses only one feature of the system such as. NOT color and size, the article could e.g.. “Cup 12cm in various colors” mean.
1. Taxes rot – 12cm
2. Blue cup – 12cm
3. Cup of green – 12cm
4. …
So the customer can choose not only the color but the diameter.
Now there are two relevant options for the display of attributes, which are not used for the construction of a KoPros:
1. An attribute for use Simple products: The attribute diameter can here through item number and description “described” but appeared not really on the item to select.
2. An attribute for both KoPros like Simple (SiPros) use: The attribute is on the grounds of the Configurable product selected once and added directly to the linked-newly created SIPROS further.
This is set directly in the attribute at “Apply to”.

because I have two counter-questions:
1. How the system should be “the right” Delivery time to decide, if there are several in a SIPROS CoPro?
2. If all SIPROS same delivery times, then why not put in CoPro these delivery?
I know it's stupid to a question with a question “answer” but these questions come to mind to me. And that reminds me of yet a third question: It should probably be a dynamic display? That first a general delivery (or, at best, e.g. “from 3days”) appears and then after selecting the respective SIPROS the actual time is shown? So as for the prices? I think, that one would have to copy here the logic of price display. According to the motto “After selecting the SIPROS / show option attribute “Delivery time” an.

So it was now hinbekommen.
For this purpose I used the Better Configurable Products Extension. This works actually quite simple. You read the lowest SiPro to CoPro by this extension, and then searches for the best SiPro Delivery.
It would certainly be easier to CoPro exact delivery time in the backend to provide the most favorable SiPro has but as I said, parts management by third-party companies, What makes things complicated etas 🙂

The features of my simple items will not appear in the online shop. It is that we have different sizes of garments, ie. the items are created with Configurable options. In Configurable items of course, no dimensions are etc. because there are different sizes. Is there a possibility, that the characteristics of the simple article, wenn man die Größe und Farbe gewählt hat, appear to be?

I think, dass wir helfen können. Jedoch sind die Informationen noch nicht ganz umfassend.
Im Konfigurierbaren Produkt (KP) können Artikelmerkmale, die sich bei den Einfachen Produkten (EP) nicht unterscheiden -wie Material, Grammatur, Herstellungsland etc.- bei den Artikelmerkmalen angezeigt werden. Hierzu ist jedoch notwendig, dass bei jedem dieser Attribute (unter Katalog > Attribute > Attribute verwalten) auch hinterlegt ist, dass sie im Frontend angezeigt werden sollen.
Die sich unterscheidenden Attribute -z.B. Size, Color, Schnitt- sollten dann ja über die Auswahl im KP angezeigt werden, um vom Kunden ausgewählt zu werden.
Generell ist für jedes Produktattribut aber wichtig, that (s.o.) hinterlegt ist, dass es im Frontend angezeigt wird.
Sollte dies noch nicht helfen, we need some more information. The best one report briefly by phone.

Thank you. Yes that's all clear, what I said, that the dimensions (not the size) the products can not see. They are registered in the simple products. In the online shop, I can only see the features of Configurable Article, the size and color can I choose though, However, no other features of simple items are shown me.
